It's All About Jesus
By Emil C. Liko
But seek first the kingdom of God
and all these things
shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)
WRONG!!!!
Yes, I said wrong!! And no, I am not out of my mind. It's not that
the Scripture is wrong-it's that we so often miss the heart of the
verse: the King. Focusing on the kingdom rather than the Person
gains us head knowledge but we miss the heart experience, which
is Jesus!!!
Jesus IS the kingdom. We need to turn our eyes, our focus and our
attention solely and completely on JESUS.
Many people take books and authors and teachings and preachings
which talk about things of the kingdom and become so knowledgeable
about the kingdom of God that they forget the most important
thing
the King
Jesus. Solomon calls this, in Ecclesiastes
1, a chasing after the wind.
They know everything about God but they don't actually know God
personally. They know all the things that God could do but they
don't know what God can do, because they have never experienced
Him for themselves. More people own a piece of other peoples'
God than they do a God of their very own.
Let's read it instead: Seek first the KING! Jesus IS the Kingdom.
Is not Jesus the Savior? Is not Jesus our Deliverer? Is Jesus not
our Rock to stand on when things around us seem to be sinking? Is
Jesus not the Great I AM? We need to understand something: Jesus
is the answer to everything!
Ask Him a question, any question! For example, "Jesus, I am
a sinner. Who can forgive me of my sins?" Jesus' answer? "I
will."
"Jesus, who can help me stand, because I am worn out?"
"I will."
"Who can rescue me from pornography?" Jesus: "I
will." Who can set me free from smoking? "I will."
"From drinking?" "I will."
"Who can save me from myself?" "I will."
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6)."
"I am the Way out of your circumstances. I am the Truth in
a world full of deception and lies. I am the Life after you close
your eyes at your life's end. I am the one to take you into eternity
to live in a place I have prepared for you (John 14:2)."
Albert Einstein once said, "I want to know God's thoughts
the
rest are details."
So what are the details in your life right now? Whatever they may
be, Jesus is the only answer that you need. Seek Jesus wholeheartedly!
Only Jesus can love you like you have never, ever been loved before.
I leave you with this: Try Jesus again for the first time!
After all, Jesus is the author of starting over. Isn't that true
forgiveness? The act of taking our sins or offenses and throwing
them "as far as the East is from the West (Psalm 103:12 )."
Remembering them no more, wiping the slate clean, then starting
us over.
So start something! Start a fresh relationship with Jesus. And
this time, seek first the King, then "all else will follow."
