Who Do You Say I Am? - Jesus
By Emil C. Liko
Jesus asked His disciples, "Who do people say the Son
of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist;
others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets
of long ago." "But what about you?" He asked, "Who
do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:13-17).
Who do you say Jesus is?
Jesus is someone who could not find everything He wanted to tell
you in just one card. He could not even find it in two cards. Instead,
He had to write you 66 books to profess His undying love to you.
Jesus is a "wild lover," whose love for you can never
be quenched. From the first moment He laid eyes upon you, He could
not think of anyone else. He is someone who drops all the cares
of the world as soon as you call out His name. His eyes search to
and fro until He finds you. His mind is steadfastly set upon you.
He cannot get enough of you. He cannot spend enough time with you
and He always wants more of you.
We say, "Lord, I have given all I have to you and you still
want more!" YES! He wants all the parts of your life that you
have never shared with anyone else. He wants even the parts of you
that you think no one else could possibly accept about you, but
He does. He sits silently waiting for you to come home; waiting
like a child anticipating his presents on Christmas morning.
He thinks about you all day long. He whispers sweet things in your
ears, "Don't be afraid, I am here with you (Romans 8:15)."
"I know you did not mean it, I forgive you (Acts 13:38)."
"Hey, you don't need to work so hard to impress me (Romans
4:2)."
And His favorite thing to say to you, "Just remember, I am
not like everyone else-I will always be here and I will never turn
away from you, no matter what happens! (Joshua 1:5)" No greater,
more faithful, more caring, love will you ever know than the LOVE
of Jesus!
If you have never experienced this love, only time can bring it
about. The time you put into your relationship with Jesus is worth
more than anything I can ever express to you. And you WILL find
the kindest, sweetest, gentlest Lord and Savior. He is the Lover
of your soul and He has built you a mansion awaiting your arrival.
There is no greater love than that of One who lays down His life
for a friend (like you).
I urge you passionately: Spend some time with Him today
and
tomorrow
and the next day
and the next day
and get
to know this Love. You'll never regret it!
