10-Minute Challenge

Exodus 4:15-16 NIV [God is speaking to Moses] “You shall speak to him [Aaron] and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him.”

Exodus 7:1 NIV Then the Lord said to Moses, “See I made you like God to Pharoah and your brother Aaron will be your prophet!!”

Think of the magnitude of those two statements! I’m not aware of any other person to whom God said, “I have made you like God to them!” God was saying “I’m going to make you ME to them!” I find that statement so awe-inspiring! When God calls you or me to do or say something, He’s wanting to make us HIM for that moment, to bring a person to salvation, to repentance, into peace, into deliverance, into freedom! God’s asking at that moment, “Will you be ME to this person for the next 10 minutes?”

More than ever, it’s TIME to respond to the written and the spoken Word of God. It’s TIME to believe it. It’s TIME To become it. If God says, “Do this,” say “Yes sir!” and do it. If God says, “You are this,” then say “Yes sir” and become it! God is starting to move very quickly. Revival is already breaking out. Here’s the Lord’s invitation: “I’m calling in the workers for the harvest. I’m tapping you on the shoulder and inviting you to take part!”

So my question to you is, when God taps you on the shoulder, who are you going to be? Are you going to be Moses and say, “Noooo…please please please pick someone else”? Or will you be Jeremiah saying, “But I’m only a child, I’m not ready yet”? Or will you be Isaiah, “Yes, Lord! Here I am. Use me”?

The Child by Emil

The birth of a baby so soft and gentle
The glow in the eyes of the parents
Small little fingers and stubby little toes
Eyes that strained to find something on which to focus

Pink wrinkly skin, faint traces of hair
This baby, this Child, was none to compare
A lamb in human skin, a warrior within
And a Holy Spirit which none could compare

A child sent on a mission, a child greatly feared
Was he a Conqueror? Was He a Destroyer? Was He a Dove?
This was truly God sent in a small little package
Just waiting for the chance to grow up

A king born in a stable? A Savior in a crib?
So weak and so helpless, so tiny and frail
He had a heart of compassion at such an early age
He yearned for a world now thrown into a rage

If you would have looked deep into His eyes
I wonder what you would have seen
Maybe a tear for the souls
He came to save

He couldn’t wait to be about the Father’s business
Not wielding a hammer, a nail, and a log,
Which all too soon would secure him to His fate
He was nailed to a tree

This tiny baby
Just wait till He grows older, just you wait and see
That this little baby
Would save you and save me!

December! Already?

It’s December. I said it last post: Already! We are entering a most joyous season of the year: the birth of Jesus, the celebration of the Father’s love for ALL of us, and His lavish gift to the world! Another most joyous season is Easter: the culmination of the life of Jesus on earth, His unfathomable sacrifice for ALL of us, and His resurrection for our eternal life IF we believe WHO He is and WHAT He did. Our prayer this last month of 2021 is that God will arrange a divine appointment for every one of us in which we will get to share Jesus and help one (or more) find their way into God’s glorious Kingdom of Love! It will be the best start to the new year for them AND for all of us!

November already!

October flew by and it seems all the leaves flew off our trees, too! We had such fierce winds at times that our autumn colors came and went very quickly. We had to drive a few hours away Saturday to enjoy the reds and oranges. It’s been a very busy month of ministry–65 divine appointments throughout the month. We prayed for a lady with back pain, leg pain, and foot pain to the point where she could not walk without a cane. After praying with her, she got up, walked about 20′, walked back, and did it again–all without her cane, and she hasn’t used her cane since! Thank You, Lord!

Driveway Free Prayer

The Lord gave us a third set-up site during our morning prayer the other day. We are to return to the vision we received while in Colorado of doing Free Prayer at the end of our own long driveway! Well, our driveway here is definitely LONG! But it isn’t on a main road. In fact, someone once told us, “It’s going to be so quiet here, because nobody will come down your street unless they have a purpose!” Well, GOD has a purpose! And over the past 18 years, He has regularly led people to us while they are driving, “Take a detour and go down this road,” or “Instead of making a left turn, turn right!” and HIS divine appointments begin! For people who want privacy when stopping for prayer, this is the place!

18 Years!

We are entering our 19th year of Roadside Free Prayer! Our 18th anniversary was September 12th. We look forward to this year and to many, many years ahead! Thank you to all our partners and all who have encouraged us over the years! Your support is vital to us in more ways than one!

Summer in Iowa is BUSY!

We finally realized why we’re so busy! Summer in Iowa is fairly short! There is MUCH to be done outside during these few months. We live on 7 acres, 2 of which are trees, leaving 5 acres to maintain. In addition, we have 4 outbuildings, 2 of which we use right now. They ALL contain “stuff” left by the previous owner, stuff we need to go through–some looks antique-ish (maybe we could sell) and some looks firepit-ish. So after we come in from the roadside, the rest of the daylight hours are spent working on the most urgent projects! We prioritize and re-prioritize all the time–including what we can realistically get done this summer and what will have to wait until next summer…and possibly the next summer…and so on! In the midst of this, we are so grateful to God and constantly thank Him for positioning us in this house, on this property, in this community, with these people!

Tall Corn Days

We will be in the Tall Corn Days parade here in Sioux Rapids Saturday morning with our Free Prayer trailer! It is an annual celebration and starts off Friday night with a Sweet Corn Feed at the American Legion–sounds yummy!!! We are grateful for the continued exposure to our community and more and more people are recognizing us on the roadside and honking and waving! The corn in the fields surrounding our house is about 7′ tall and beautiful!
